Four Basics of Reading Odds

12.8x

Odds × stake

Multiply the stake by the odds for the total return: 100 TRY × 1.70 = 170 TRY.

1 ÷ odds

Divide 1 by the odds for the implied probability: 1 ÷ 1.70 ≈ 59%.

Probabilities multiply

On a combo the chances multiply, so more legs means a much lower chance of landing.

Movement

Falling odds mean the market rates that outcome as more likely.

What Do Odds Mean?

Odds show the total you receive for every 1 TRY staked if the bet wins. At 1.70, a winning 100 TRY bet returns 170 TRY: 100 TRY of your own and 70 TRY profit. Bahissenin shows all odds in this decimal format.

How Do You Convert Odds to Probability?

Divide 1 by the odds. 2.00 is about 50%, 1.50 about 67%, 4.00 about 25%. It's the quickest way to judge whether a price looks right to you. If you rate an outcome at 60% and the odds are 2.00, it's worth something to you; at 1.50 it isn't.

How Do Bet Types Differ?

Match result asks 'who wins?', handicap asks 'by how much?', over/under asks 'how many goals?'. The same match produces very different odds for each question. When a favourite drops to 1.25, many players look to handicap or over/under instead, but each carries a different kind of risk.

Combo and System Maths

On a combo both the odds and the probabilities multiply. Four legs at 1.70 give total odds of about 8.35, but if each is a 60% shot the slip lands only 13% of the time. A 3/4 system splits the stake across four trebles; it still pays if one leg fails but returns less when everything lands.

Steps

Four Steps to Judge a Pick

Run through these before adding a match to your slip.

  1. 1

    Convert the odds

Divide 1 by the odds and note the percentage.

  2. 2

    Write your own estimate

How likely do you think the outcome is?

  3. 3

    Compare

If your estimate beats the implied probability, the pick may have value.

  4. 4

    Choose the slip type

Consider a system bet if you have more than three legs.
